Over the past few seasons, the art world has once more been a serious source of inspiration across the catwalks with many designers drawing influence from some of the most iconic artists. From Prada’s line of bags showcasing Robert McGinnis designs to Sonia Rykiel’s nod to Niki de Saint Phalle, there are so many fashion houses taking an artistic approach when it comes to creating their latest collections.
The relationship between fashion and art has always been a close one and I myself have always found art inspiring from the use of lines and composition to texture and tone.
Now more than ever I'm looking to independent illustrators and artists for fresh inspiration and to also collaborate with on new jewellery collections.
My recent creation was inspired by slow and wavy lines, free formed shapes and sculptured compositions - like the Free-formed pendant (Gold and Silver), Sleek wave stud earrings, and Statement wave circle earrings.
And what's more, expect to see artist collaborations here at DOSE of ROSE with a focus on the beauty of minimal line drawings and freehand illustrations. From botanicals to the female form, I have so many ideas I can’t wait to explore in the New Year so watch this space!
